I had no idea, as a child she was always so caring and tending to me. ( I was Ed’s step daughter at the time ) if you see this I’m so sorry Ed. Love you granny Betti tell papa garland I love him too! Y’all are finally reunited in the mighty kingdom ♥️

My TOP favorite memories of my momma, via Dorinda Atkins:

1. My April 12th BDay card she mailed to me this year
2.  Memories of living in Yazoo City, Miss
3.  Surprising her with my 4th pregnancy when she didn’t even know I was expecting!
4.  Momma buying me a pair of shoes that I did not know cost $100, and hearing her GASP!
5.  Momma telling me I was so beautiful on my wedding day Oct 1st.
6.  How happy momma was to take all 4 of our kids back to Tx. with them for the summer.

Things I can remember my mom telling me;

Drink water…it cures nearly everything.
“Shhhh, don’t tell dad how much that costs”.
Keeping a clean and orderly house is important…..especially if you want me to come visit you.
When are we taking the next road trip?
Can we go out to eat?
Be prepared…you just never know!
Drive faster Mechele….you’re pokey!
Forgiveness is difficult sometimes but necessary. 
Always go to church and heavens sake, make friends. 
The more the merrier!
Let’s spring clean…it’s time!
Always fix more food than you actually need when feeding a crowd.

This Lady, my Aunt left an indelible mark in my life.

She is in a better place now and I am a better person for having her in my life.  She had a special way of filling each day with adventure, joy and laughter.  So grateful for all my memories.
