Betty Sue (Alexander) Thompson

Betty Sue Alexander Thompson passed away December 27, 2018 at Parks Retirement Center.
She was born in Haskill, Texas April 3, 1926 to Marvin Ted and Jo Alexander. She had two sisters, Josephine Stewart and Jane Wheat. Betty and Blair Thompson were married March 8, 1946 in the 1st Methodist Church of Odessa, Texas. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary March 8, 1996. Blair Thompson passed away February 14, 2001.
Betty and Blair had two children, Milton Thompson and Donna Sue Randleman; three grandchildren, Tommy Thompson and Wife Kristi, Tamara Nortey and husband C.B. and Joe Dee Thompson and Wife Ashlee; she had eleven great grandchildren. Betty graduated high school from Odessa High School in 1941. She was a housewife and a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church until her passing.
Services will begin Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. A memorial service will follow at 1st Presbyterian Church in Odessa at 2:00 pm.

Betty Sue Thompson was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Betty will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of Marvin Ted and Jo Alexander.
Betty was raised with two siblings. She had two sisters, Josephine and Jane. Betty was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Betty had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1941. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
On March 8, 1946 Betty exchanged wedding vows with Blair Thompson at 1st Methodist Church of Odessa, Texas. Empathic and loyal, Betty was committed to making her new family happy.
Betty worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Betty was blessed with two children, one son, Milton and a daughter, Donna Sue. Another blessing for Betty was the gift of three grandchildren, Tommy, Tamara, and Joe.
Betty’s faith was important to her. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church until her passing.
Betty passed away on December 27, 2018 at Parks Retirement Center in Odessa, Texas. She is survived by two children, Milton Thompson and Donna Sue Randleman ; three grandchildren, Tommy Thompson and Wife Kristi, Tamara Nortey and husband C. B. And Joe Dee Thompson and Wife Ashlee; she had eleven great grandchildren. Services were held at 1st Presbyterian Church. Betty was laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
Simply stated, Betty was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Betty leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Betty Sue Thompson.
