

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany during the occupation of Germany. He married Barbara Payne on June 9, 1956. He retired from Gulf Oil and started Circle P Ranch Supply in 1977. Bill loved raising chickens and loved horses and racehorses. His grandchildren were a true delight to him and he enjoyed spoiling them however possible.
Bill was truly one of a kind. His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor was hilarious. He survived more crazy life experiences and incidents/accidents than most people can imagine. He was a believer in Jesus so we know he is healed and laughing in Heaven today.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Patterson; daughter, Cindy Cobb; son, Willy Patterson and wife Julie; siblings, Jim Patterson and wife Karen, Barbara Fullingim and husband Mick, Mike Patterson and wife Millie, Lana Chambers and husband Vick; sister-in-law, Gloria Patterson; grandchildren, Jason Cobb, Tish Crawford, Jesse Cobb, Shane Patterson and Brooklyn Patterson; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Patterson.
Graveside services will be Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1 PM at the Rose Hill section of Ector County Cemetery.
