Bobbie S Hughes

Bobbie Sanderson Hughes passed away on September 4, 2012. Bobbie was born on February 7, 1935 in Abilene, TX to Herman and Aubra Sanderson. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended the University of Houston. She married the love of her life, Alden Farris Hughes Jr. in 1971, and they were married for 42 years. Bobbie taught piano and organ for 27 years in Odessa then taught in Houston for 25 years. Since her return to Odessa in 2006, she has served as a substitute pianist and organist for many churches in the area.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Alden Farris “Butch” Hughes, III; sister, Sharon Sanderson Wolda; and beloved husband. She leaves behind her sons, Richard Ty Fowler of Dallas, Virgil Tab Fowler of Austin, and Greg Glasgow of Davenport, California; Daughters, Linda Scott of Gardendale and Cynthia Barron of Midland; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many very dear friends.

Memorial services are on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Mission Dorado Baptist Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating.

Contributions can be made to Mission Dorado Baptist Church in honor of Bobbie Sanderson Hughes. Services are entrusted to Frank Wilson Funeral Directors.
