Bobbie Ruth Morrison, 83, a longtime resident of Odessa passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her residence. She was born June 19, 1932 in Era, Texas to Victor & Kizzie Morrison. She moved to Odessa in 1961 and has been the motivation and drive behind the longevity of the House of Seat Covers, a family business built and nurtured through many years. Ruth enjoyed and cherished her customers, shared many stories, and held dear the generational draw of something she built. She believed all the employees across the 54 years have been an instrumental part of building something to remember and an essential part of her life. Through all the ups and downs, raising 4 children, spoiling grandchildren, and chasing great-grandchildren she had time for anyone who needed her. Ruth believed in presenting your most beautiful self and that nothing cures the blues quite like shopping! A “Mom” and “Grammie” that loved with her heart and soul, she provided safety and security to anyone that needed her. Love of Jesus, life, and family, and sharing memories and stories with laughter and compassion were at the heart of Ruth. She was devoted to her family and community, always putting others first. For her, family was a relative term, anyone she loved was family.
Her love of life and legacy are carried forward by her sons; Daryl, Darwin, and Kevin Wilson; her daughter, Teresa Stewart-Miller; 8 grandchildren, Stephen Wilson, Kizzie Wilson, DeShay Voss, Brooke Stewart, LeChelle Creech, Jacob Wilson, Daniel Wilson, and Ashley Arreola; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A visitation with family and friends will be 6:00 -8:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 7, 2015 at Crescent Park Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Odell officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday August 9, 2015 at the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, TX. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
