She was born January 15, 1951, in Odessa to John and Ruby Burnette.
She was active in Girl Scouts from 1986 to 1996, at which time she became a lifetime member. In her spare time she enjoyed writing short science fiction stories, playing with her grandchildren, and reading.
She was employed by Hertz Car Rental up until her illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter Miranda Ward of Midland and two grandchildren Moira Grey Ward and Kiernan Samuel Ward.
Mrs. Peek will lie in state from 1:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015, and from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery/Odessa section.
