Carmen (mommie) Gamboa

February 28, 2019

My beautiful memory started when my cousin Carmen and her family stopped in Phoenix the year I graduated from 8th grade. A wonderful memory developed that summer when Porky, Sakie, and I were invited along with them back to their hometown in Odessa, Texas. Carmen had chickens in the backyard and Porky, the cousins, and I would go hunt for an egg for breakfast with a homemade tortilla. We also ended up going on a picnic to a lake that her husband José took us to that Summer. We had a wonderful time. A video would have been nice, but it's engraved in my mind. Carmen was very kind to us. She loved to talk and was so interesting to listen to with her Texas drawl. Porky and I went to visit her last year. It was a cold day and Carmen had some of the best beef stew waiting for us. MAN was it delicious! We gained beautiful cousins for a lifetime. Love you Carmen. I know you are dancing in heaven.
