

He was born March 22, 1927, in Saragosa, TX, to Manuel G. and Victoria C. Lopez.
He married Juana Parra on January 14, 1948, in Ascension, Mexico. He served in the U.S. Army, and enjoyed reading, traveling, playing the guitar and visiting with family.
He was a member of Parkview Church of Christ. He was actively involved throughout his life in the Lord’s work, preaching, teaching, and talking to anyone he came in contact with about God.
He is preceded in death by wife Juanita Parra Lopez; parents Manuel and Victoria Lopez; brothers Jose, Inez, Manuel, Victor, and Margarito Lopez; and sister Rita Galindo.
Mr. Lopez is survived by sons Joe Lopez, John Lopez, Eugene Lopez, Leroy Lopez, Ubaldo Lopez, Rene Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Ray Lopez, and Robert Lopez; daughters Leonor Robles, Nery Anaya, Elizabeth Martinez, and Sandra Arredondo; sister Paula Vasquez of Phoenix, AZ; 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Parkview Church of Christ, 1700 Park Blvd. with Mr. Wayne Partain officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX.
Pallbearers will be Barney Lopez, George A. Arredondo Jr, Alfred P. Alvarado, Christopher Lopez, Robert Lopez Jr., and Nathaniel Hernandez. Honorary pallbearer is Zeke Anaya.
The Lopez family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers; and a special thank you to the staff at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Veterans Home for the care given to our Father and Grandfather.
