

He was born February 28, 1949, to Leslie and Ruby (Futrell) Pipkin in Lamesa, TX. He graduated from Lamesa High School and attended West Texas State University. He married Cynthia Colleen White in 1980, and was a dedicated and loving father of Stephanie Pipkin, born in 1986. He was a NRA member and an active member of Sherwood Church of Christ.
He served in the Army National Guard of Colorado and received the Soldier of the Year Award in 1974. He served in the D Company, 140th Signal Battalion and was honorably discharged August 26, 1975. He later re-enlisted in the Military Academy in Roswell, NM, from November 1, 1984, to November 1, 1990. He received the Army Achievement Medal while serving as a Staff Sergeant in the position of Senior Training and Counseling Noncommissioned officers on July 27, 1986.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronny Pipkin, and father-in-law Bud White.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia Colleen White Pipkin, daughter Stephanie Ann Pipkin both of Odessa, brothers, Terry Dixon Pipkin of New Boston, TX and Larry Jay Pipkin of Odessa, and mother-in-law Joyce White of Odessa.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Mark Wilson and Lynn Money officiating.
