

He was born December 21, 1926 to Clay Charles and Lucy Mote Richardson in Lubbock, TX.
He served his country in the Army, and was stationed in Japan.
He met and married the love of his life, Jimmie Sumpter on July 15, 1947 in Lamesa, TX. He went to work for Parker Drilling Company and retired as a Drilling Superintendent after 45 years. After retirement he pursued his passion for ranching. He was a member of the Sandhills Hereford and Quarter horse show and Rodeo. He served for many years on various committees.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Odessa. He was loving and caring family man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Jimmie Richardson of Odessa, son, Jimmy R. Richardson and wife Linda of Carlsbad, NM, daughter, Nancy Clark and husband Lon of Odessa, four grandchildren, Haylee Simpkins, Kelly Brimer, Clay Richardson, and Keith Clark, and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be 1pm Monday, April 28, 2014 at First Baptist Church.
