

Christopher Allen Bowhay, 22, beloved son of Glenn and Holly (Arterburn) Bowhay of Odessa, passed from this life on Monday, March 21, 2011, at Medical Center Hospital after a valiant fight with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and will be dearly missed.
Chris was born at Odessa Regional Hospital on September 8, 1988. He lived in Odessa most of his life, with the exception of 4 years in Clute, Tx. He graduated National Honor Society with Honors from Permian High School in 2007.
Chris touched many lives through his positive attitude, gentle heart and keen wit. He never met a stranger or a video game he didn’t like, and if you played Halo, you rocked.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather Morris E. Arterburn, and Uncle William Kit Bowhay.
Chris is survived by his parents, Glenn and Holly; brothers Spenser 21, and Matthew 19; grandparents William A. and Beverly L. Bowhay all of Odessa; and Patsy J. and the late Morris E. Arterburn of Rockwall, Texas; Aunts, Uncles, beloved Cousins and friends across the state too many to number.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Life Celebration Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Crescent Park Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend David Weyant officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pall Bearers will be brothers Spenser and Matthew Bowhay, best friend Nicholas Robinson, and cousins T.J., Andrew, Trevor, Taylor, Aaron, Austin, and Travis, Arterburn; Jacob and Abbie Alexander; and Donald and Saxon Garnsey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
