Christopher Caleb Ramos, 38, (Chicano/Irish nationality) of Odessa passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 10, 1976 in Odessa to Abel T. & Anita (Black) Ramos. He was an oilfield roughneck.
Caleb danced to the beat of his own drum and that drum beat loudly and with no reservation. His heart always made room for his family and those he called a friend. If you spent even an hour with him, you would return home with a hilarious story to share with others. He loved to joke and play with you, sharing his inner child willfully and openly. He was the instigator, the one who started it first. He somehow got you to do things you probably wouldn’t do otherwise. He was outrageously courageous and courageously outrageous. He was a lover, a fighter, a stinker, a friend, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a son, a father, an uncle and once even a husband. He would make you laugh, make you mad and then make you laugh while you were mad. We will remember and love him dearly over and over again never forgetting how he has touched us all. We say goodbye for now Caleb, this is not the end.
He is preceded in death by his mother and sisters, Monica Ramos, & Dianne Green. He is survived by his father, Abel Ramos of Odessa, daughters Sierra Ramos of Odessa, Gia Ramos of Gardendale; sisters Sofia Ramos of Amarillo, Susan Ramos of Austin, & Charlotte Alshire of Graham, TX.
A visitation with family & friends will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
