Consuelo Tavarez Rodriguez, of Odessa, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend. Her life was centered on faith, family and service to others.
Consuelo was born on January 18, 1943 in Tierras Nuevas, Chihuahua, Mexico. She lived a life rooted in strong values and deep compassion. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph/St.Anthony Catholic Church, where her faith guided her daily life. Consuelo found joy in simple pleasures, especially playing la loteria and spending cherished time with her sisters and friends
She was preceded in death by her husband Rosendo Rodriguez, her parents Blas Sosa Tavarez and Estefana Guerrero Tavarez; Her brothers, Oscar Tavarez and Blas Tavarez; and her sisters, Amalia Tavarez Venegas, Eleazer Tavarez Orta, Vicky Tavarez Urias, and Yolanda Tavarez Banuelos.
Consuelo is survived by her children; Jesse “Chuy” Rodriguez and wife Cathy Rodriguez of Odessa, Sandra Rodriguez of Odessa, and Rene Rodriguez and wife Socorro Rodriguez of Odessa.
She is survived by her sisters: Bertha Tavarez Carrasco (Ramon) of Odessa, Olga Tavarez Morales of New Braunfels, Aurora Tavarez Tercero (Steve) of Odessa, Dolores (Lola) Tavarez Alaniz (Ernest Jr.) of Odessa and sisters-in-law Rosa Tavarez of Abilene and Romelia Rodriguez Morales of Midland.
Consuelo was a proud and loving grandmother to Ashley Vasquez (Jessie), Justin Rodriguez (Whitney), Damien Hawkins, Noah Rodriguez, Emma Rodriguez, Jillian Rodriguez and Liam Rodriguez.
She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Jordyn Vasquez, Jayden Vasquez, Joslyn Vasquez, Cedella Hawkins and Elicia Rodriguez, who brought her immense joy and happiness.
Consuelo Tavarez Rodriguez will be remembered for her kindness, strength, unwavering faith, and the profound love she shared with her family. Her legacy will continue to live on through generations who were blessed to know and love her.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 9th at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by a graveside committal at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery.
