Craig Alan Popejoy

Craig was born on March 7, 1975, in Odessa. Texas to Ceaburn Abner Popejoy, Jr. and Jeannie Darlene (Edwards) Popejoy. He was raised in Odessa attending local schools. He was a 1993 graduate of Permian High School. He was a very talented baseball player. He played shortstop, third base and pitcher. He went on to attend Howard Payne College in Brownwood where he majored in Business management. His professional background, included several industries.

Craig enjoyed having a good time. He was naturally athletic and enjoyed anything sports related such as bowling and recently ping pong. His proudest role in life was being a father. His sons gave him a sense of purpose. He loved being able to teach them baseball and was proud of their accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Wanda Edwards; paternal grandparents, Ceaburn and Barbara Popejoy.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his sons, Cooper Alan Popejoy and Brody Tripp Popejoy; his devoted parents, C.A. and Jeannie Popejoy; two aunts, Alice Gee and Barbara Rush; numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 6-8:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home 601 North Alleghaney Odessa, Texas 79761. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Odessa.
