Dale Wayne Akin, 24, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Stanton, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1988 in Odessa to Stan Akin and Wendy Spencer. Growing up Dale was what you would call “The All American Kid”, he played outside till dark, climbed tree’s and played baseball. You always knew where to find Dale as a child, all you had to do was look in the back yard and there he was. Dale loved his parents and would do anything for them; he also was the best brother to his sister. He graduated from Richard Millburn. Dale struck gold as he put it when he met and fell in love with Jessica. They were perfect for each other and were starting their happy family. He was a proud daddy when they welcomed their daughter, Isabella Faith Akin on April 12, 2011. Dale was also a very proud daddy to his step-son, Kaden Moore, which in Dale’s eyes was his son. He was the best daddy and husband anybody could ask for. Dale was a kid at heart and loved to play with any kid. Like his wife would say, “I have to take care of my three kids”. There is not enough words to describe who he was, all we can say is how amazing and caring he was. He was our HERO and everybody that knew him looked up to him. Dale was extremely proud of his job and died doing what he loved. He loved his line man family as he would say. When football season came around, Dale was faithful to watching the Dallas Cowboys and The University of Texas. If we only had five minutes that day you passed away, we would have had time to tell you all the things we needed to say. We never got to tell you how much you mean to us, Or that you were the best dad, son and husband, better than any man could be. The last time that we talked to you we wish we would have known. We would have said I love you, and kept you on the phone.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Jo Crump; grandfather Billy Akin and cousins, Ricky and Randy Thiebaud.
