

After he graduated from Ector County High School, in 1966 he attended Odessa College where he played basketball. In 1967, Danny enlisted into the U.S. Air Force where he served six years as Forward Air Controller during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he attended the University of Nebraska. Danny returned back to Odessa where he began his career as a firefighter and EMT for the Odessa Fire department. A career change in 1975 would become his calling and passion that would allow “a kid from the wrong side of the tracks” to provide growth and stability for his family and business. Danny worked for Farmers Insurance for 43 years, he was the District Manager since 2002.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Paula Urias.
He is survived by three children; Anjanette Urias of Hot Springs, AR; Tiffany Urias of Dallas, TX, Joey Urias of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Dalton Cade Loy of Hot Springs, AR and Shaylin and husband Tyler Gardner of Fort Riley, KS.
Public visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 4-9 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Monsignor James Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
