Doris June Buchanan Swinney

Doris June Swinney was born on August 4, 1934in Midland, Texas to Raymond and Oneada Buchanan. She passed away on November 6, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Doris married Billy Swinney on January 18, 1952 in Odessa. They lived and worked in this area for most of their married life.

She was an Enrolled Agent with the “IRS”, and she owned and operated her own accounting service for over 40 years. At one time she also owned a restaurant. She loved to cook. Doris was a great mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved people and never seemed to meet a stranger.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by one son, Royce Swinney of Odessa; two daughters, LaTanya Barber and her husband Stephen of Camarillo, Ca, and Sicrita Stahlman of Odessa; and one brother Jesse Buchanan of Midland.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening 11-9-2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, 11-10-2011 at the Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home Chapel at 1:oo p.m. with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Midland.

Services are entrusted to Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home
