Dorothy Crownover Griffith Gatlin

Dorothy Crownover Gatlin, 90, of Garland, TX passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Garland. She was born February 5, 1920 to Reuben & Oma Griffith in New Castle, TX. She had worked for Ector County Independent School District as a Cafeteria Manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lee Crownover & Gene Gatlin, daughter, Gail Hinds and granddaughter, Lisa Whitley.

She is survived by her son, Terry Crownover & wife Sandra of Garland, daughters, Glenys Mathis & husband Ronny of Dublin, TX, Sandra Marker & husband Bob of Denton, Elizabeth Robinson & husband Lucky of Odessa, Sharon VonTrotha & husband Larry of Hamilton, OH, her sister, Florence Rector of Brownwood, (12) grandchildren, (8) great-grandchildren and (1) great-great-grandchild.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. People loved her Italian Cream Cake.

Family will receive friends at 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2010 at Life Change Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
