Dorothy Faye Hardcastle Snowden
April 19, 1931 – July 26, 2018
Dorothy Faye Hardcastle Snowden, 87, of Spring, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2018, from health complications resulting from a prior stroke in early February.
Dorothy was born in Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas on April 19, 1931. She graduated from Odessa High School and continued on to receive a Certificate of Nursing from Odessa College. Dorothy was married to Ed C. Snowden, Jr. on November 25, 1952; they were married 27 years.
Dorothy worked as an LVN for Medical Center Hospital for many years as well as other medical facilities in the Permian Basin. She enjoyed reading, traveling and visiting with her family and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Clara Hardcastle, sister, Laverne Hoestenbach and brother, Doug Hardcastle as well as her former spouse, Ed Snowden, also of Odessa.
Dorothy is survived by her brother Rhett Hardcastle and sister in law Chris Hardcastle; 3 children, Virginia Franzoy and husband Mike of Spring, TX, Timothy Snowden of Spring, TX and Harvey Snowden and wife Judy of Odessa, TX; 3 grandchildren, Travis and Stephanie Franzoy of Spring, TX, Trey and Nicole Franzoy of Pueblo, Colorado and Traci Mittelstaedt and husband Jared of Spring, TX.; and 9 Great Grandchildren, Seth Hagan and Nathan Franzoy, Colton Franzoy, Savannah Franzoy, Cade Franzoy, Mackenzie Mittelstaedt, Hailey Donewar, Harley Donewar and Gunner (Hawk) Mittelstaedt; 6 nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 8 at Hubbard-Kelly with Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.
