Edna Mae Pool

She was born on January 31, 1938, in Haskell County, Texas, to Joe Quincy McBeth and Mary Elizabeth Earp.

Edna married the love of her life, Pete Pool, on June 5, 1954. Together, they made their home in Odessa and lovingly raised four children. Edna was an incredible homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a talented seamstress and an exceptional cook. Once her children were old enough, she proudly earned her GED and entered the workforce. She worked at Woolco, NDT Systems, and Service Office Supplies.

She and Pete shared a love for bluegrass music; they played in two bluegrass bands together and treasured traveling to festivals across the area.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three brothers, Ralph, Joe and Donald McBeth; two sisters Mona Chambliss and Juanice Tucker; and her son-in-law Paul Townsend.

Edna is survived by her daughters Linda Pool, Brenda Terry, and Darla Townsend, and her son Clint "Petey" Pool and wife Kay, all of Odessa. She leaves behind three granddaughters, Kasey Roberts and husband Patrick, Caitlin Pool, Kalie Jonietz and husband Jacob; five great-grandchildren: Audrey Townsend, Jaxon McDaniel, Brynlee Roberts, Cambrie Roberts and Owen Jonietz; as well as her "adopted' children Joy and Rick Bishop.

A visitation for Edna will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church with Bro.Clydel Chapman officiating, 100 W 50th St, Odessa, TX 79764. A committal & burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E BL 20, Odessa, TX 79762.
