George was born December 5, 1971 in Odessa, Texas to Esther Hernandez and Elias Hernandez. He was a graduate of Permian High School. He attended both Odessa College and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
George was married to Karina on March 19, 2011. George worked as an insurance agent for Lisa Copeland Insurance. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball, taking selfies, and watching Tinkerbell movies. He was actively involved in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church ACTS ministry, an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, active in the married couples retreat group and a lector. He was also an active volunteer with his daughters as a coach with the Odessa Girls Softball Association. He also volunteered one season as a soccer coach for his daughter’s team.
George was preceded in death by; his grandparents Rogelio and Maria Molinar, cousin Becky Molinar, and godmother Elidia "Mina" Molinar as well as his compadre, Father Barry McLean.
George is survived by his wife, Karina Ornelas Hernandez; daughter Bella Beatriz Hernandez; and daughter Breann Elise Hernandez; father Elias Hernandez; mother Esther Hernandez; father-in-law Pilar Ornelas and mother-in-law Romelia Ornelas; sister Monica Galindo and husband Steven, sister Laura Torres and husband Freddy, brother Joe Albert Hernandez and brother-in-law Edgar Ornelas; nephew Juan Lucas Galindo, nieces Jazlyn and Jenelle Galindo, nieces Ariana and Ashley Torres, nieces Aleah and Sophia Hernandez, aunt Sally Molinar, aunt Elida Garza and husband Eliseo, uncle Rudy Molinar and wife Lita and uncle Roy Molinar and wife Josie as well as many other family and friends that loved him dearly.
A visitation for George will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Dr, Odessa, Texas 79761. A rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will occur Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 7601 N. Grandview Ave., Odessa, Texas.
