Ethmer Mae Henry

Born on December 18, 1932, in Covington, Oklahoma. Ethmer’s life was a testament to her enduring spirit and generous heart.

Ethmer met and married the love of her life, Ronald K. Henry on July 8, 1950; they were married for 62 years. Ethmer was the cherished matriarch of a loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Keith Henry, her 2 sisters Marsha McHendry and Rosena Holley, and her great grandson, Jayden Neil Wells. Her legacy continues through her children, Carla Ann Wells, and Russell Keith Henry, her 2 grandchildren Dr. Christopher Keith Henry and Wesley Wells, and her 3 great grandchildren, Parker Wells and BrookeLynn Wells, and Olivia Ruth Henry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.

Ethmer was an active member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and teaching Vacation Bible School inspiring generations of children and those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cooking for her family, tending to her home, or losing herself in a good book. In her spare time Ethmer loved counted cross stitch and creating beautiful quilts. Ethmer’s love for her family was her greatest passion, and she poured her heart into every meal, every hug, and every word of encouragement.

Described by those who knew her as loving, faith-filled, and generous, Ethmer’s influence and kindness reached far beyond her immediate circle. As Mother Teresa once said, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Ethmer lived by these words, touching lives with her small acts of great love.

Ethmer Henry’s warmth and generosity will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Frank Wilson Funeral DIrectors, located at 4635 Oakwood Dr., Odessa, TX.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church; 505 E. 42nd St, Odessa TX.

The Graveside Service will be on Monday, February 17, 2025. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m.
