Evelyn Melrose Cupp

Evelyn Melrose Cupp, age 84, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at her residence. She was the fourth child born to Roy & Bertha Davis on May 12, 1932 in Forsan, TX. She married Jack Gardenhire in 1948, they evangelized for twelve years, then in 1957 were blessed with a son Bill Gardenhire.Three years later she lost Jack. She then put herself through nursing school. Evelyn worked at the hospital in the sixties then went to private duty nursing until she retired. In 1975 she remarried to Douglas Cupp. Evelyn was a faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha and Roy Davis and siblings Mary Thompson, Lavern Davis and Vyrion Davis. Her 1st husband Jack Walton Gardenhire, 2nd husband Douglas Cupp and her son Billy Derrall Gardenhire. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Hazel Gardenhire of Odessa and her grandchildren DeeAnn and Jack Gardenhire. Two sisters Jeannine Bingham and Sue Norwood. Five step-children Bill, Glenn, Wayne Cupp, Marge Elaine Ye and Steve Brannon. Family viewing will be Monday June 20, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
