Florencio Acosta Najar Jr.

Florencio “Frido” Acosta Najar was called home on the night of August 15, 2017. Frido was born on December 16, 1951 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Florencio Najar and Anita Najar. He was raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico where he attended school. Frido is survived by his wife, Mary Najar, whom he was married to for 22 years of Odessa, Texas; sister, Amelia and Jose Garcia; brother, Adam and Alicia Najar; sister, Maggie and Gale Holly of Lubbock, TX; brother Danny Najar; and sister, Marivel Najar of Carlsbad, NM. Also his children, Melissa and Dennis Contreras of Carlsbad, NM; Frido and Amy Najar of Carlsbad, NM; Santos and Kora Flores of Odessa, TX; Kelly and Morgan Najar of Carlsbad, NM; Debra Brooks of Odessa, TX; and Christina Najar and Rodney Floyd of Midland, TX. Frido is also survived by 20 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Florencio and Anita Najar. Frido was surrounded by his family during his passing. A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Friday, August 18th at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, August 19th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Pallbearers: Jordan Najar, Jarek Najar, Nathaniel Najar and Jacob Flores. Honorary Pallbearers: Samuel Flores, Moses Valenzuela, Justin Contreras, Jacob Contreras and Maliki Contreras.
