Freddie Glenn Pugh

Freddie Glenn Pugh (nee Johnson) of San Angelo, Texas went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2021. Freddie was born in Texon, Texas on December 15, 1927 to Gardner F. and Yuba L. (Satterwhite) Johnson. Freddie married her high school sweetheart, Tasso Pugh on October 18, 1945 in Pampa, Texas who was on leave while serving in the US Navy in the Marshall Islands during WWII. Freddie and Tasso settled in Odessa, Texas in 1955 and together they raised three beautiful sons, Freddie Romain, Steven Roy and Dennis Rand. Freddie was an excellent seamstress and made decorative western wear for various groups such as The Odessa Chuckwagon Gang during the annual Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo and The Permian Basin Oil Show. Freddie was active in her church and worked several years at the Baptist Student Union at Odessa College. She worked nights as a bookkeeper for both the local hospital in Odessa as well as her church. Painting was Freddie’s passion. She developed strong skills and shared them with others by leading painting classes and her home was filled with her still life, landscape and nature paintings proudly displayed. Freddie was preceded in death by her husband Tasso Pugh and son Freddie Romain Pugh. She is survived by her sons Steven Roy (Patty) Pugh of Spring, TX and Dennis Rand (Callie) Pugh of Canyon Lake, TX, grandchildren Tasso Pugh, Shawn Pugh (Cassie Stallings), Natalie Pugh Vela and Nathan (Casey) Pugh, along with 10 great grandchildren Christopher and David Pugh, Toby, Tate and Tyce Vela, and Preston, Samson, Ian, Jedidiah and Charlotte Pugh. Freddie is also survived by her sister Merlene Morris and brother Gardner Dwain Johnson and his wife Dorothy. Public viewing and visitation will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 from 4-7 PM and Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11 AM at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Freddie will be laid to rest next to her beloved sweetheart, Tasso, in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the staff at Shannon Medical Center, Lyndale San Angelo Assisted Living, Park Plaza Nursing Home and St. Gabriel's Hospice for their compassionate care and a special thanks to her caregiver and friend Stephanie Melendez of San Angelo, Texas.

I love the picture. She never changed. We all have paintings that she did of the ranch, for us. Roy, Mom came home after going down to help when Randy was born, and thought you were the most adorable, climbing on everything, loving kid, ever. I think that "ever" included we five. lol
I hope you all spend a lot of time telling stories and remembering good times. Your family was/is very special to all of us. Every time I called Aunt Freddie, it was delightful. I will miss that. It hurts, Its sad. Take Care. Be Safe. Love and hugs, Kitty Pugh
