

Freddy has left the building. In the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found a Beloved, Father, Grandfather ,Brother , Uncle, and Dear Friend, Freddy Deras Hinojos, Mr. Hinojos 78,of Odessa, passed away Saturday February 27,2016 at Medical Center Hospital. Freddy was born January 27, 1938 in Royalty Texas to Santos and Delfina Deras Hinojos,
He was presided in death by his parents Santos and Delfina Deras Hinojos., two brothers Esquiel Hinojos ,Alfredo Hinojos and one sister Irene Hinojos. Surviving sisters are Juanita Lujan and Carolina Calderon of Dallas, Sarah Jacques of Midland and brother Armando Hinojos of Pecos.
Freddy attended the Monahans school system where he played football and graduated in 1959. He then enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and served as a military policeman. Freddy returned to West Texas and married Linda C. Galindo of Pecos they have two sons Paul Anthony Hinojos of Pecos and Carlos Cain Hinojos of Richardson and has 8 grandchildren, Paul Anthony, Maddison, Tristan, Caileigh, Atakin, Teegan, Kieran, and Keelan & A Host of Nieces ,Nephews, Cousins and Many, Many Friends.
Freddy and Linda moved to Del Rio Texas where he worked for a finance company and later for Del Rio Bank and Trust. While in Del Rio he was very active with the United Civic Organization where he coached and served as President.
They later moved to Monahans where he went to work at First State Bank now known as West Texas State Bank. He was a pioneer as the the first Hispanic loan officer for the bank and helped many people in the Monahans area, retiring as a Senior Vice President. He served on many boards and was a Past President of the Lions club and was also a past City Councilman of Monahans. He was instrumental in the creation of the Headstart programs in Monahans and Pecos.
He was a true Monahans Lobo and a fan. He would attend games when possible or drive to the nearest point where he could listen to the game on a radio.
Freddy' s final job was at Walmart in Odessa where he would never meet a stranger. He would visit with old acquaintances and make new friends on a daily basis. He was a humble man with a big heart.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 2, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm & Thursday March 03,2016 from 9am to 9pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home (601 N. Alleghaney Odessa, Texas 79761 (432) 332-0991. Mass will be Celebrated at 10am Friday March 04, 2016 at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church (907 S. Dixie Blvd Odessa, Texas 79761 (432) 337-2213, In lieu of flowers, at The Family`s Request Lets Honor Dads Memory but more his legacy by Sharing & Giving the gift of love with your monetary donation to a Charitable Cause, especially with love to Children, in his Memory .Interment will be held privately at a later date.
