Mrs. Cannon was born Glenda Ruth Mitchell on November 6,1941, in Red Level, Alabama. She married Bob Cannon on April 23, 1968 in Odessa, Texas. Together they worked hard and raised a beautiful, loving family and she remained by his side until he was called home in 2011. Always the rock and center of their world, Glenda continued on, taking care of her family and welcoming in the next generation of great grandchildren.
The last of her immediate family, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cannon, parents and Alvin and Maybell Mitchell, brothers Joseph, Lomax, Billy, Irvin, MT, and Everett Mitchell, sisters Louise Morgan and Beulah Smith. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mitchell, Button Bourne, Deegan Barnett, Justin Griffin, Brandon Cogdell and Scotty Cannon.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Bob Cannon Jr, and his wife Brenda Johnson of Fairfield, Wade Cannon of Odessa, grandchildren Scotty and Holly Cannon, Chad Cannon, Brandon and Ashley Cogdell, Kyle and Brandy Barnett, Justin and Shelby Griffin, Casey and Brianna Townsend, and great grandchildren Breckyn and Deegan Barnett, William Cannon,Jacob and Jaxson Bartlett, Jack and Tate Townsend and Swayzie Griffin. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would also like to thank the tremendous outpouring of love and support from her chosen family at The Courtyard in Odessa Texas. This includes the staff, residents and their families as well.
A funeral service for Glenda will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, 450 E Main Street, Fairfield, TX. Glenda will be laid to rest in Dew Cemetery, Teague, TX.
Serving as pallbearers are Scotty Cannon, Justin Griffin, Brandon Cogdell, Jeremy Lane, Deegan Barnett, Button Bourne, Casey Townsend and Johnny Mitchell.
