He was born March 14, 1930 to Eugene A. and Grace Mae Norman in Ballinger, Texas.
He served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp. from 1947-1950. He was a resident of Odessa since 1957.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge #955, El Paso Scottish Rite and a member of the Odessa Country Club since 1968. He was a member of the Permian Bass Club where he served as president. He worked for N D T Systems, retiring in 1992 as vice president of marketing.
He was a Baptist. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and playing cards with friends at the Odessa Country Club.
He married Fern, the love of his life in 1959, who preceded him in death in August 2009. He visited her grave daily until he became disabled. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Alemedia Curtwright and Pauline Cooley, and two nephews, Gary Curtwright and Monty Cooley.
He is survived by sister, Dot Burrell of Kerrville, and brother, Morris Norman of Orlando, Florida, step-children; James Cornelius and wife JoAnn of Oklahoma City, Carlene Collins and Judith Moreland of Odessa seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six nieces.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
