Hernan Fernandez

Saturday August 17, 2024 peacefully at his home in Odessa, Texas . Hernan was born on June 9, 1942, in George West, TX. To Olegario A. Fernandez and Carolina S. Fernandez. He married Joann Hinojos Fernandez May 6, 1961. They were married 63 years and lived in Odessa, Texas all of their lives.

Hernan was a proud veteran that served in the Army from 1961-1964. He was a master plumber for over 40 years and owned Herman's Plumbing. Hernan enjoyed playing chess with his sons, nephews and close friends. He also enjoyed fishing and working on his vehicles in his spare time. Hernan enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone that was willing to learn and spending time with his family. He was a great story teller and enjoyed sharing his life experiences and advice with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Hernan is survived by his wife Joann of 63 years; two sons; Hernan Fernandez Jr. and his wife Lisa Fernandez, Fernando Rey Fernandez; two daughters, Christine Fernandez and Victoria Fernandez, all of Odessa, Texas; one brother, Selso Fernandez of Albuquerque, NM; four sisters, Emerida Guerra of Antioch, CA, Carolyn Fernandez of Oakley, CA, Corina McMurry of Ripon, CA, Benita Robles of Antioch, CA. Hernan also leaves to cherish his memory, 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be; Johnny Abila Jr., Michael Anthony Abila, Guauthemoc Guevara, Cuauhtemoc Guevara Jr., Itzcoatl Guevara, Richard Flores, Juan Chavez.

A visitation for Hernan will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 N Jackson Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 1700 N Jackson Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A burial with military honors will occur Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E I-20 Business Loop, Odessa, Texas 79762.
