Jackie D. Hampton Jr.

Jackie D Hampton, Jr. of Odessa, Texas passed away June 25, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital.

Jackie was born August 18, 1958 to Jackie D Hampton, Sr. and Jimmie Grace (Cearley) Hampton in Odessa, Texas. Jackie graduated from Odessa High School in 1976 receiving many awards while participating on the Odessa High School swim team. His love for swimming (and outdoors) followed him for the rest of this life as he became certified in scuba diving and enjoying numerous lake trips with his four legged companion, Zoe. Jackie was a very talented mechanic and welder, a skill in which he inherited at an early age from his father, “Big Jack”. Jackie also enjoyed a great cookout, listening to 70’s rock, visiting with old friends and family. He was a very generous and kind man.

Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Jackie D Hampton, Sr. Survivors “The love of his life”, Phyllis Juarez, Mother, Jimmie Hampton of Odessa, Sisters: Schylet Davis of Brownwood, Susan Johns and Natalie Hampton both of Odessa. Jackie was also an uncle to two nephews- Denny Graham and Grant Templeton (Austin) & niece, Hampton Johns (Odessa).

No service scheduled at this time. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to DBAR (Dust Bowl Animal Rescue) and the American Heart Association in honor of Jackie’s loving heart.
