

He was born to J L and Ruby Mahan on October 12, 1950 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
James graduated from Odessa High School in 1968. He spent most of his working life as a machinist.
He was a great bass player and especially enjoyed playing in worship bands. James loved God, and he enjoyed living a Christian life.
He loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, J L Mahan.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mahan; his mother, Ruby Mahan; two daughters, Kristin Motley of Amarillo, and Traci Mahan of Great Falls Montana; three brothers, Ronnie Mahan of Ruidoso, New Mexico, John Mahan, and Dudley Mahan of Odessa, and five grandchildren, Samantha Deter of Montana, Alissa Deter of Montana, Wyatt Hardin of Amarillo, Maxim Hardin of Amarillo, and Aiden Hardin of Amarillo. One step son Phillip Kirby, and in-laws Bob and Martha Goodwin.
A Memorial service is planned for Friday, September 5, 2015 at 10 am at the Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Matt Wilson and Rev. Jane Morin officiating.
