

James Lewis Simpson was born on July 27, 1933, in Knox City, Texas. He was born to Esther Ann (Murphy) and Benjamin Franklin Simpson. He fell asleep in death at the age of 83 at M.C.H. in Odessa, Texas on April 25, 2017.
He married his "Sweet Thing", Wanda Nell Greene, on June 14, 1952, in Rule, Texas. He had many different occupations, but the ones dear to his heart were farming and his volunteer ministry.
They moved to Odessa in 1972 where they raised three children, Steve Simpson (wife-Sandra) of Odessa, Phil Simpson (wife-Sherri) of Mansfield, Texas, and LeAnn Forney (husband-Kanon) of Fort Stockton.
People were drawn to him because of his compassion and his great sense of humor. He was known for his love of family, his generosity, his love of life, and his love and respect of the Bible, to which he dedicated the majority of his adult life to as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Preceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Ernest Simpson and sister-in-law, Nan Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, his three children, his grandchildren Stephanie Simpson, Aaron Simpson (wife-Nicole), Allan Simpson (wife-Alecia), Alex Holton (husband-Jacob), Tyler Simpson, Ryley Forney, and Bellamy Forney, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many friends who were like family.
Memorial services will be at 1750 E. 87th, Odessa, Texas, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2 p.m., on Sat., April 29, 2017.
He was convinced and looked forward to the time when Rev. 21:3,4 will become a reality.
