

He was born May 10, 1932, in Brownwood, TX to Tommy and Mattie (Goff) Brooks. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired licensed Funeral Director for over 50 years. He had worked for Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo, Wilson-Miller Funeral Home in Monahans, Ellis Funeral Home in Midland and approximately 10 years for Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa. He was a member of the Odessa Rotary Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, David Brooks, and daughter, Nancy Kacal. He is survived by his wife, Diana Brooks of Midland, daughter, Paula Heath of San Angelo; daughter-in-law, Lori Brooks; grandchildren, Mark Heath, Nicki Self and husband John, Natalie Miller and husband Mike, J.T. Brooks and wife Laura, Erika Hurst and husband Stance, Allison Moeller and husband Nathan, and Joseph Kacal; great-grandchildren, Bree, Jilli, Chloe Self, Leo David Hurst, and Kinley Ann Moeller.
Daddy, you are now in Heaven with our God and your children and parents. We will all be together by and by. You will remain in our hearts always.
There will be a visitation from 6 pm to 8 pm Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 27, 2015, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jon Slayten officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Rylee Mayo, Bill Steele, Don McBroom, and James Cooper.
