

Jojo was born in Pecos Texas on October 21, 1963 to the late Salvador and Carmen Ortega. He graduated from Carver Learning Center.
Jojo worked at and was a client of MHMR of Odessa for over 20 years. Joe had physical and mental disabilities from birth but he never let that slow him down. He loved to dance, sing, visit family and friends, he enjoyed going to the movies, eating out and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Jojo always had a smile on his face and loved to talk to everyone. He was a big fan of old TV shows, especially Walker Texas Ranger. He competed in the Special Olympics for many years in numerous events.
Joe is survived by his brother Saul Ortega spouse Elaine Ortega kids Ella, Alyssa, Nathan; his Sister Nancy Briseno spouse Mark Briseno kids Jodi, Jess, Joseph; Sister Anna Marceleno spouse Jose Marceleno kids Joe Jr, Jessica, Sandra, Terry, Fabian, Samuel, Troy, Delphina; and other family and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Salvador Ortega and his mother Carmen Ortega.
Uncle Joe Martinez, Cousin Albert Martinez, Cousin Michael Morales, Cousin Luis Morales, Nephew Terry Marceleno, family Arturo Carrasco will serve as pallbearers.
The family of Joe Frank Ortega wishes to thank everyone for all the support, prayers, and kind words. They would also like to thank Vitas Healthcare Hospice of Dallas for all their assistance throughout the past several months.
A visitation for Joe will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 North Jackson, Odessa, TX 79761, with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2633 Conover Ave, Odessa, TX 79763. A committal service and burial will occur Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E, BL 20, Odessa, TX 79762.
