Condolences to the Mrs. Garza and the family; as, Joe’s passing is one that “…weighs heavy on many hearts.” Joe was a man of “…heart for God’s service;” and, that was evident through the years of his Volunteer work for the Catholic Churches in South Odessa and Youth Sporting Events. Everyone knew, that Joe Garza and his family would always “…follow through with their commitments of volunteerism.” If he was to be there in cold or blistering hot weather, he would be there.

I had many “lunch/dinner table discussions with my +Parents;” and, they “marveled” at the manicured Church and its holy grounds. When Joe finally went to work for the Church (after retirement), my +Parents and I said “…about time, he knows what that Church needs more than anyone.”

Many Priests, through the later-years, did visit with me over lunch/dinner or a meeting, telling me how Joe and his family were just “…so committed…Joe even wanted to polish one young Priest’s shoes.”

I did mention to one of his daughters, that it was interesting (i.e., wondering what God was trying to tell me), that her father passed during this “…interesting Election Seasons!” Mr. Garza was an “…Avid Early-Voter;” and, always stated that “…he passed by the Hernandez Residence to see which Candidate signs I had out on my lawn…he knew how to Vote!!” Mr. Garza “…got my Vote for being all ‘heart and Service!’”

Mr. Joe Garza was just “…all heart and educated through the Bible.” After all said and done, we should “assess ourselves and business practices and frame of reference through total service and humbleness.”
