Born on March 19, 1928, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico to Antonio Moreno & Margarita Bravo, Josefine lived a life full of faith, strength, and devotion to those she loved. She was a faithful servant who lived her life as a testament to God’s love and grace.
Josefine devoted much of her life to raising her four children Gilberto Moreno, Franscisco Moreno, Guadalupe Smith Adams and Martha Smith Paredes. She found immense joy in fishing and being outdoors, watching sports and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, playing games, testing her luck at the slot machines, and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family and friends. Known for her infectious laughter, love of singing and dancing and wise advice, she left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
She is survived by her daughters: Guadalupe Adams and Martha Paredes; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several cherished nieces, nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio Moreno & Margarita Bravo, siblings Juana Moreno, Francisco Moreno and Angel Moreno, husbands, Nicholas Salgado and Andrew Dewey Smith, her two sons Gilberto Moreno and Francisco Moreno and two of her grandchildren Margaret Rose Moreno and Antonio Moreno.
A Funeral Mass will be held on October 2, 2026. Services will begin with visitation at 10:00 AM and the Rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home (601 N Alleghaney Ave). The Funeral Mass will take place at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (907 S. Dixie Blvd). Graveside Committal will follow at the Rose Hill section of Ector County Cemetery (300 S Dixie Blvd).
Pallbearers will be Willie James Adams, Kyran Carter Savage, Nicholas Brandon Adams, Saul Paredes, Brandon Lemus, and Edward Lee Romero.
Josefine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone for their overwhelming love, prayers, and support during this time. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in celebrating the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared so freely. Forever loved, forever missed.
