Josie M. Hughes, 95, of Odessa passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 6, 1922 in McCullough, TX to William Martin & Florena (Johnson) Quain. Josie was a longtime resident of Circle J Church (formerly Friendship Baptist Church.)She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Otte Hughes, son, Sidney Hughes, brothers, Rodrick, Buster, Joe & Pete Quain, sisters, Norlee Otte & Marie Chesser. Josie is survived by her son, Carroll Henry Hughes of Odessa, daughter-in-law, Marsha Hughes of Odessa , grandchildren, Ryon Hughes & wife Crystal of Odessa, Trina Hughes of Irving, TX, great-grandchildren, Cody Hughes & wife Candace of Midland, Keely Nixon & husband Taylor of Odessa, Karly Hughes of Odessa & Jacob Hughes of Odessa, & (2) great-great-grandsons, Corbin Hughes & Brayden Nixon & expectant great-great-granddaughter, Cydnee Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
