

Ms Judy Darlene Deriso passed from this earth and arrived in Heaven on Sunday, October 5th after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 65 in Odessa, TX. Judy was born on October 30, 1948 in Dumas, TX to Will and Ruth Weddel. Judy was a fun loving person with a great sense of humor and a very caring spirit. She loved helping others either through her church, favorite charity or as a Texas REALTOR.
Judy would tell you she moved to Odessa as fast as she could in 1963. Her caring nature was a perfect fit as a REALTOR. Judy began her very successful real estate career in 1991. She loved helping her clients achieve the American dream of homeownership. Judy was an active member of the Odessa Board of REALTORS, the Texas Association of REALTORS and the National Association of REALTORS, where she served on the board of directors and on the TREPAC committee. Judy received many achievement awards, including the Golden R Award in 2010, the Texas Realtor Leadership Award in 2011, the TREPAC Chairman Top Fundraiser in 2011 & 2012 and the Distinguished Texan Award in 2013 which demonstrated her extraordinary service to the Texas Real Estate Industry from Texas Governor Rick Perry. She loved to perform in skits and entertain the membership with her great personality. She enjoyed pulling pranks on her many friends in real estate and you could always count on her bringing joy wherever she went. She was past owner of Deriso and Haynes Realty and current broker associate with JPS Realty.
Judy owned Wills Bonding, a company founded by her father Will. She had been a part of the bonding business since 1987. This business also blessed her with many opportunities to share her caring spirit with those in need.
Judy was an active member of First United Pentecostal Church. She loved attending church with her family and friends. She will be remembered as the most amazing mother, sister, sister-in-law, daughter, grandmother, best friend and mentor to many.
She was blessed with a wonderful family and survivors include her mother, Ruth Weddel, son, Shane Hart, brother, Jerry Weddell and wife Rita. Survivors also include three Grandchildren of which she loved very much; twins, Hannah and Caden Hart and Kelsi Babcock.
She was preceded in death by her father Will Weddel and husband Bill Deriso.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 8th at Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers include: Mike Withrow, Gary Sims, David Wade, Jimmy Peacock, Tony Valenzuela, Chester Bussell, Danny Weddel & Jaime Salgado.
