

Julie married the love of her life, Sammy Franklin, on July 5, 1980 in Odessa. They moved to Loco Hills, NM in 1983 where she was a 4H leader and chosen Homemaker of the Year two times. She earned two masters degrees in Special Education and then taught Special Education for 15 years for Lake Arthur Municipal Schools. She then retired and moved to Odessa where she became a member of Junior League and was a chair for Hope House and SHARE. She was a life long lover of animals, a fantastic Wife, Grandmother, and Mother.
Julia was preceded in death by her father, Richard Harrison.
She is survived by her mother, Francis Young Harrison; her husband, Sammy Franklin; two sons, Cody Alan Franklin of Odessa, Sage Arin Franklin of Loco Hills New Mexico; two daughters, Heather Whetham of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Tiffany Lea Vasquez of Odessa. She is also survived by three brothers, Ted Harrison of Vancouver, Canada; Glenn Harrison of Richland Virginia; Tim Harrison of Hemmit, California; one sister, Linda McMillan of Pueblo, Colorado. She also leaves six grandchildren, Kylynn Whetham, Yancy Whetham, Holdyn Whetham, Autumn Vasquez, Arrianna Vasquez, and Laicey Franklin.
A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, August, 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Circle J Cowboy Church in Odessa with Rev. Dave Atkins officiating.
