Katrina Dauphne Wood

March 5, 1961August 23, 2020

Katrina Dauphne Wood, 59, of Odessa, Texas. passed away on Sunday, August 23th 2020.

Katrina was born in Odessa, Texas., on March 5th 1961 to the late Wilburn Lloyd Williams and Flodell Taylor Williams. She graduated from Odessa High School and married Paul Wood

Katrina was a wonderful friend and kind person and, in spite of long-term health issues insurmountable to most, she carried on as normal a life as possible, with a smile and a kind word for most everyone. Katrina fulfilled her roll as an awesome homemaker and an equal part in a 2-person income family with her spouse. She went on the be sucessful in achieving her desire to stay involved in the working world for many years meeting most of her personal goals before becoming totally unable to work. Not having the ability to work full time did not keep Katrina down by any stretch of the imagination. She carried on day by day side by side with her best friend and spouse of 40 years to meet the milestone achievements that her health and time would allow.

For everyone that truly knew Katrina, also knew that she could be pretty spicy at times, and hold her ground. She certainly had a "back-up" personality, that if pushed in a negative direction, she would not hesitate to tell you where to "get off", let's say... That was probably her greatest achievment, to be the most kind, loving, generious, bright, spititual, fun loving, person, yet have the ability to give you "tough love" when approiate.

Katrina is preceded in death with her daughter Melissa Dauphne Wood and parents Wilburn Lloyd and Flodell Williams. Katrina Wood is survived by her husband, Thomas Paul Wood of Odessa, Texas., Son, Justin Thomas Wood of Odessa, Texas., Granddaughter, Jayden Melissa Wood of Odessa, Texas .,Sisters Joyce Mattoon of Cincinatti, Ohio.,Regenia L. Bateman of Odessa, Texas and Sabrina R Holcomb of Brownwood, Texas. Katrina's extended Family consists of many nieces and nefews that she loved and was efectionaly referred to as A-nie, A-nie treenie, or Aunt Katrina, or just Katrina and she lovingly embraced all of those name refereces. (of course NENE that Jayden her only Grandchild refered to her is the fav!)

At this time due to Covid-19 Circumstances we will not be having an actual Service. A "Celebration of Katrina's Wonderful Spirit" to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Melissa Dauphne Wood to the Williams Syndrome Org. at the email address below, or give to the charity of your choice. https://www.williams-syndrome.org/make-donation
