

Leon was born in Doddridge, Arkansas to Jenny and Jasper Riley. He was raised on the family farm up to the time he entered the Army.
While serving our country during WWII Leon was an Army staff sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was a rifle marksman and received an Army Commendation Ribbon for his unselfish acts and heroism.
Leon worked over 40 years in the Texas oilfields having spent 27 years of that working until his retirements for Rod Ric Drilling Corporation in Odessa, TX.
Leon was a private man and seldom boasted about things, until it came to sharing his stories of playing high school basketball and a State Championship game. He was a huge sports fan, never missed a Dallas Cowboys game and loved wrestling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by sons, David Daniels and wife Cindy of Odessa, Jerry Riley and wife Zane of Canadian, TX., & Michael Riley and wife Brandi of Odessa, daughters, Sandy Sims and husband Danny of Emery, TX., Diane Wolfe and husband Wayne of Emery, TX., Jean Thompson of Odessa, Collen Williams and husband Roger of Equality, Illinois, and Kim Bishop and husband William of Odessa. A sister, Joyce Finnely of Decatur, Alabama, 24 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6:00p.m.–8:00p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be 2:00p.m.,Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
