Linda Kay Menoher Cunningham

Linda Kay Cunningham, age 68 passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Sherwood Place. She was born June 7, 1943 in Denver City, TX to George & Hilda Menoher. She married Bobby Lee Cunningham on July 27, 1962 in Denver City, TX.

After retiring from Safeway after many years of service she continued to live in Odessa caring for her elderly mother till her passing. Linda and her husband moved from Odessa to Ruidoso, NM after retirement settling in a little mountain community. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Ruidoso and previously was a long time member of Vine Ave Baptist Church of Odessa. She had two Church families she loved dearly. She asked Jesus to be her Savior many years ago and was a devoted Christian that loved the Lord. She set such an example of being a Christian her husband eventually was saved because of her witness and prayers for him. Because of her witness to him he has eternal salvation not counting all the others she made a difference in their lives. Anyone who met her had no doubt she had a place waiting for her in heaven. Her surviving family and friends are grieving her departure from this life but receiving peace knowing she is definitely walking the streets of gold with her loved ones in heaven. She is with her truly beloved husband who was waiting for her at the pearly gates of heaven. She is where she wanted to be not suffering any longer and with her beloved husband she missed with all her heart. She will be missed dearly. She was an Angel on earth.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother devoted to her family and all her many friends. She loved her only grandson he was the apple of her eye. She was a person that always saw the good in everyone. She never said a bad word about anyone. She loved people and loved to talk. She has made a lasting impression on many people and set such a good example for people to follow. Her love of people and God came easy to her. She will be missed dearly but her new home is in Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Lee Cunningham, son, Quint Cunningham, and sister, Norma Russell.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Gwen Cunningham of Odessa, brothers, Rosser Menoher & wife Pat of Grapevine, TX & Cy Jones of Eunice, NM. She is also survived by her loving grandson, Scott Stout of Odessa, & nieces, Barbara Russell of NY, Terry Brock of Weatherford, TX, & Rona Chambers of Dallas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Vine Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Touchstone officiating. Interment will follow at the Denver City Memorial Park in Denver City.
