Lois Inez Woodfin, went to be with her Lord Monday, March 25, 2013 in Ballinger, Texas where she had spent her last few years in the Central Texas Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Inez was born March 27, 1918 in Lewisville, Arkansas to J. R. (Bob) Powers and Maggie Rosa Powers. She was married to E. T. “Jimmy” Woodfin on April 21, 1934 in Muleshoe, TX. She lost the love of her life when he passed away on December 12, 1991. Inez was affectionately known as “Inniema” to her grandchildren and many others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church (now Crossroads Fellowship) in Odessa, Texas. Inez was a homemaker famous for her specialty cooking and excellent sewing. She loved company and greeted everyone with a warm and welcoming smile (and a pear cobbler.) She was known for her love of family, fun, camping in Texas and Colorado, and her expert domino-playing and chess. Coming from the depression era, she was a go-getter, a hard worker all her life and always had a positive, happy outlook and graciously shared that sweet spirit with everyone, especially her family. In her last days she still sang the saving words in the old hymnal songs that gave her so much happiness and peace.
She is survived by her son, James Woodfin & wife Shirley of Odessa, daughters, Joyce Blassingame & her husband Ed of San Angelo, TX, Marsha Hudson & her husband Larry of Arlington, TX, brother, Raymond Powers & his wife Mary of Monahans, (9) grandchildren, Jami Roberts & her husband Brad, Cody Woodfin & his wife Leslie, Kip Woodfin & his wife Carrie, Lane Salvato & his wife Karen, Wade Salvato, Jennifer Painter, Gina Florence, Marshella Stone, Curtis Hudson & his wife Amy, (16) great-grandchildren, Amy, Ryan, Casey, Dalton, Josh, Chase, Braden, Jaci, Sydni, Nicki, Meagan, Hayden, Hannah, Ben, Kennedy, and Hudson, (3) great-great-grandchildren, Baylee, Colton, & Brooklyn, sister-in-laws, Minnie Edwards of Abilene, Margaret Powers of Eastland and many wonderful nephews & nieces, family & friends whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the amazing and marvelous staff at the Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and those in the previous Runnels County Nursing Facility in Ballinger who lovingly and graciously cared for Inez in her final difficult days. The family would also like to thank the caring Crossroads Fellowship Church for their compassion and kindness during this time as well.
