Louis V Wiesman

Louis Valentine Wiesman, 84, of Odessa, Tx. passed away December 30, 2014. He was born September 30, 1930 in Muenster, Tx to Anthony William Wiesman and Angeline Leona Yosten. He married Dorothy Eleanor Moster on May 6, 1952 in Gainesville, Tx. They shared a loving life of 49 years before Dorothy passed away on October 30, 2001.

Louis worked in the oilfields in New Mexico and Texas beginning as a roughneck, then a driller and then as tool pusher. He settled in Kermit, Tx. in 1963 working for Leatherwood Drilling Company, and then went to work for Sharp Drilling Company until he retired in 1985. He was respected by his peers for his oil field and drilling knowledge and integrity. Louis started Midland Safety and Health, Inc. in March 1984

After retiring he moved to Odessa, Tx. There he was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a member of the 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He also spent several years volunteering at Medical Center Hospital. He loved nothing better than to go fishing.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy.

Louis is survived by his children: daughters, Marilyn Lou Wachsmann and husband A.J of Midland Tx.; Karen Ann Cleere and husband Freddy of Odessa Tx.; Cynthia Lynn Campbell and husband Bart of Odessa Tx.; sons, Bobby Glenn Wiesman and wife Bea of Carrizo springs Tx.; Darrel Leslie Wiesman and wife Annabel of Midland Tx.. He is also survived by his brother Donald Robert Wiesman and wife Shirley and his sister Gladys Agnes Ann Gordan. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors with a rosary following at 4:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Catholic Charities Center, 2500 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, Tx 79761.
