Louise Rogers

Our beloved Mother, Louise Rogers, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. She was born on April 28, 1926, to Ruby Lee and Ike Lowder in Velma, Oklahoma. She grew up in Duncan, OK, with her mom and dad and sisters and brother. She married G.E. “Ed” Rogers in 1945 and they were married for almost 50 years before his death in 1994. They had 2 sons, Carl Rogers and Ron Rogers. Mom was a homemaker while her son’s grew up and joined the workforce in the mid-60’s. She was a proud employee of KOSA-TV (CBS 7) as a receptionist/PBX operator for 25 years before retirement. She was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and by 2 sisters, Imogene Farmer and Billie Shorter, both of Lawton, OK, and by her brother, Hubert “Sonny” Lowder of Lawton, OK. Mom left behind to cherish her memory, her sons Ron of Odessa and Carl and wife Susan of Odessa.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chase and Cy Rogers of Odessa, Kristen Johnson of Odessa and Tyler Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska. She was also survived by nieces Patt Conway, Cheryl Cathey and husband Donnie, and Kim Durbin, all from Lawton, OK; Faye Keck and husband Bill of Gordon, TX; and Randi Kay Kennedy and husband Rusty of Mansfield, TX; nephews Gerald Shorter and wife Yolanda and Larry Shorter and wife Liz, both of Lawton, Oklahoma, and sister-in-law Dorothy Rogers of Grand Prairie, TX.

She is also survived by a large and loving extended family, her church family and many friends who will also miss her very much. She definitely loved you all !

Visitation is scheduled for 6:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday evening, November 30th, at Frank W Wilson Funeral Home at 4635 Oakwood Dr in Odessa, TX.

Services are scheduled for 3:00pm on Sunday, Dec 1st, at Northside Baptist Church at 100 W 50th Street in Odessa, TX.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, Dec 3rd, at the Duncan Cemetery in Duncan, Oklahoma.
