Margaret Elizabeth Duval

Margaret Duval was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, musician, educator, and friend whose life was deeply rooted in her love of music.

Margaret dedicated much of her life to music and education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics. Throughout her career, she shared her talents teaching string instruments and performing the viola and violin in chamber music and orchestras. Margaret had a passion for performing and loved her position in orchestra. Once the performance is complete you would find Margaret smiling with delight for a performance well played.

Music was more than a career for Margaret; it was one of her greatest passions. She especially loved the violin and viola and had a deep appreciation for the genius of musical composers and the beauty of symphony and chamber music. She also enjoyed history, crocheting, learning Spanish, and reading.

Margaret married her beloved husband, David Palmer, on July 24, 2021, at Odessa Tabernacle. Doug Herget served as officiant.

Margaret had a special place in her heart for animals. Her beloved pets included Luna and Anabelle, whom she adored and considered part of her family.

She and her husband attended Sunday School at First Odessa Church, and her Sunday School was an important part of her life.

Margaret is survived by her husband, David A. Palmer; her brother, Gene Duval; her sister, Linda McFadden; as well as family members and friends who loved and appreciated her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward K. Duval and Loretta Duval, and her brother, David Duval.

Margaret will be remembered for her passion for music, her dedication to teaching, her love for her family and animals, and the many ways she shared her musical gifts with others. Her memory will continue to live on through the music she loved and the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761, US, on September 23, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on September 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E, Odessa, TX 79762, US, on September 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
