Margarita (Mage) Aguirre Holguin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 19, 2014. She was raised in a cattle ranch (El Escondido Ranch) in Marfa Texas, where she met and married the love of her Life , Arturo Holguin Sr. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She loved her home and her flowers. She worked until the end of her life. She was known as saying, “yes, I am 80 and I still work…..”. She attended many Catholic conventions in state and out of state. She was very involved in the Breast Cancer Tea every August in Ft. Worth, Texas where she proudly took the survivor walk during the TEA. Every October she would help prepare for our very own BCT, in Odessa. She was known by many for her famous viscochos, to which She proudly volunteered to make.
She was born in Marfa Texas on June 10, 1933, to Pilar and Charlie Aguirre. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Elva Jimenez, Eleanor Balmos, Juanita Holguin and Bette Hill who was like a daughter. 2 brothers, Carlos Aguirre II, Nolberto Aguirre,
1 surviving brother Guillermo Aguirre.
Mage has 2 sons Arturo Holguin Jr. wife Elodia of Odessa, Texas, Oscar Holguin of Kingsville, Texas.
She has 3 grandchildren- Arturo, Christopher, and Erica Holguin, 9 great grandchildren-Angelic, Kassandra, Krissy, Christopher, Karyssa Holguin, Noah, and Jonah, Segovia, Elena Martinez, Giovani Gutierrez, and one great great grandchild, Sabastian Holguin.
Funeral will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday May 22, 2014, At St Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Rose Hill section.
Funeral services are under the direction of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
