

On October 16, 2022, Margaret Niedecken left his earth to join her Lord in heaven. She was born Margaret Frances Fleming on July 11, 1929, to Guy Elbert Fleming and Cora Watson Fleming in Slaton, Texas. Raised in Post, Texas, she graduated from Post High School in 1947.
She married Don Howard Yandell on September 3, 1947, which was the same wedding anniversary as her parents. Their first daughter Joanne was born in Lubbock on March 30, 1950. Their second daughter Dana Sue was born in Levelland on May 11, 1951. The family moved to Odessa, Texas in 1957.
In 1959, Dan went to work in Colombia, South America. The family lived in Barranquilla, Columbia until they moved back to Odessa in 1960. Her marriage to Dan Yandell ended in 1975, and Margaret married Gene Prather in 1979. After Gene’s death in February 1985, Margaret married Ray Niedecken on July 29, 1989. She and Ray owed several thoroughbred racehorses, and they traveled extensively in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Oklahoma to watch them race. Ray died in February 2006.
Margaret had a long career in retail sales. She worked at Paula’s Dress Shop for many years and loved helping others put together beautiful outfits.
Margaret is survived by daughters, Joanne Miles and her husband Philip of Odessa and Dana Beazley and her husband Skip of Odessa; stepdaughter, Lyn Brewer of Midland; granddaughter, Kim Mirpoorian and her husband Paul of Savannah, Georgia; grandson, Ryan Beazley and wife Cindy of Odessa; granddaughters Pamela Miles of Odessa and Toni Jo Underwood and husband Cody of Odessa; step granddaughters, Stacy Battenfield and husband Russell of Gardendale and Kathryn Kenney and husband Weylon of Gardendale; 12 great grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
The family appreciates the many flower arrangements, the many gifts, the many visits, and prayers from our wonderful church family at Kingston Avenue Baptist Church during this long journey.
