Martin Ramon Doporto, born February 16, 1950 to Mr. Candelario Doporto & Rita Chavez Doporto, in Marfa, Texas. The Doporto family moved to Odessa in the 1950s. Martin attended Ector High School, graduating class of 1968, this is where he met his love, Florinda Loya.

He volunteered to enlist in the United States Marine Corp at the promise of Uncle Sam and the US Government, that by volunteering to serve 4 years, they would not send him to Vietnam. In the spring of 1969, Martin was greeted by a sign that said "The Gateway to the East, Welcome to Vietnam" Martin gallantly served his tours in Vietnam, and duty to his country. After returning stateside, Martin married his high school sweetheart, Florinda Loya. She became Mrs. Florinda Loya Doporto on August 7, 1971. Shortly after, Martin went to work for the electric company. In November of 1972, his daughter Andrea Danelda Doporto was born. On August 7, 1976 his son Marcus Martin Doporto was born. Martin continued to work for the electric company for more than 42 years, in that time Martin managed to raise his family, always being a family man.

Traveling to Vegas multiple times each year, because that’s where his "tour guide" Florinda, would take him, as well as other destinations around the world. Martin also liked to play golf, hunt, & fish. Most of all Martin loved to spend time with his kids and grandchildren.

Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Candy & Rita, and his brother George.

He is survived by; his wife Florinda, daughter Andrea Olivarez, husband Danny Olivarez, son Marcus, and grandchildren; Steven, Alyssa, Sevon & Christian.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Odessa, Texas. Burial will follow at American Heritage Cemetery in Midland, Texas. Pallbearers are Steven Olivarez, Brian Subia, Fabian Subia, Joe Nunez, Enrique “Boogie” Nunez, Gabriel Valencia, Michael Nunez, and Martin Nunez. Honorary Pallbearers are Sevon Olivarez, and Christian Doporto.

Martin was the most unselfish, unwavering, God fearing man we have ever known.

Truly, the epitome of a husband, father, brother, role model, hero, friend, & the ultimate Popo. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Dindy, you and Martin don't know what a blessing you are not just to your family, but to our family as well. You and Martin made Camp Lejeune bearable for us and Andy. Martin always kept us laughing. We are truly blessed to have you in our lives and in our hearts .

RIP my dear friend. My heart aches today. But then remember our friendship is forever. You were a great Marine. Great husband, great father and grandfather. Most important you were a good man.
