Marvin C. Treadway passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019. Marvin was born in Charleston, West Virginia on Sept. 28, 1937, the oldest of the six children born to Vernon and Eva Treadway. He graduated from high school in Albany, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958, serving one tour in Korea.
He married Bonnie Lou Reck on Dec. 9, 1961. Their only child, Todd Allen Treadway, was born on Oct. 29, 1962, shortly before they moved to Odessa.
Marvin was an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and of the Permian High School Marching Band while his son was growing up. Marvin was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he was active in many ministries but especially in later years with the Lutheran Braille Workers, who produce Braille Bibles for distribution worldwide.
Marvin retired after many years as Manager of Sales and Service with CCR Bridgestone/Firestone in Odessa.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his son Todd, his grandson Mykl Clark, his brothers Rodger Treadway and Michael Treadway, and his sister Nancy Jane Lowry.
Left to cherish his memory are his granddaughter Jennifer Weir (Bill), great grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth Weir, and daughter-in-law Sharon Treadway Billingsley (Edward), all of New Hampshire; his brothers, Bud Treadway of Ohio and Steve Treadway (Val) of Tennessee and eight nieces and nephews and other family members. Also cherishing his memory are his best friend in love Yvette Richardson, her three children, Michelle Little, Laurent St. Louis (Kay), and Linda Hood (Larry), 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa Saturday February 16, 2019, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers Marvin requested donations to the Todd Allen Treadway Memorial Scholarship at UTPB, or a donation to the charity of your choice.
